Primary Colors
Our primary colors are Tufts Blue and Tufts Brown. All official communications (internal and external) should always lead with (or include) at least one of these colors. Doing so helps ensure that people recognize these communications as belonging to Tufts and that we continue to build brand equity through consistent repetition. It is especially important to do so in markets where familiarity is lacking or developing. If you can only use one of these colors, use Tufts Blue.
A quick note on accessibility: To make sure our digital content is easy for everyone to read, please avoid using Tufts Blue for regular body text. It doesn't quite have enough contrast against a white background.
If you'd love to use Tufts Blue for text, it works beautifully for larger headings:
- Bold text that is 20px or larger
- Regular text that is 24px or larger

Secondary Colors
Secondary colors may be used occasionally to complement—but never replace—Tufts Blue or Tufts Brown. Secondary colors should rarely be used as large solids or fields. Ideally, they should be used to clarify type hierarchies and signal sub-sections or categories of information.
Secondary colors may not be screened or used at a percentage of their full value.
